MUTLU TORUN
"Inside here you will find the past and the future of oud" Mutlu Torun started learning Oud in 1968 - 69 at the Musical School of Istanbul. His talent quickly revealed, and in 1975 - 1981 he entered the municipal orchestra of Istanbul as maestro. He studied many old songs, at least one hundred years old, which were written in an old - fashioned way and he rewrote them at the present way of music score. In 1977 he composed 100 songs and in 1978 another 200 songs, which he gave to many musicians. Also he taught many students who were learning Oud. Everybody considered him if not the first at least the second of the best Oud musician in Turkey. |
