He said, "When I was a little boy I was searching to find a book to
learn oud, so I found some books from Turkey, Iraq and Egypt. I read
those books but they did not satisfy me so I searched again on books
from other countries to learn musical instruments that have many
similarities with oud, for example guitar and mandolin. After many years
of study I decided to write this book for every student who wants to
learn oud the right way. The time that I spent to write this book is
almost 15 years. I finished it in 1976, after visiting many Arabian and
other countries."
He was born in Aleppo Syria in 1931 and died at 20/03/2003.
